  • Storage Permission: Used to store local configurations (such as whether the editor is enabled or disabled) in your browser, ensuring a consistent experience each time you use the extension.
  • Tabs Permission: Allows the extension to interact with the active browser tab. This is necessary to inject the guide editor into the currently active webpage or to capture a screenshot of the page when requested.
  • Host Permissions (<all_urls>): This permission enables the extension to inject the guide editor into any webpage that the user has open. This functionality is triggered only when the user activates the guide creation feature through the extension popup. The extension does not interact with other webpages unless explicitly activated by the user.

b. Use of Remote Code

The extension loads remote code from our own CDN to provide the necessary JavaScript and CSS files for the editor. This remote code is injected dynamically when the user activates the extension and is only used to enable the guide creation process on the active webpage. The remote code is hosted on secure servers controlled by Guidper.

2. How We Use Your Information

We do not collect any personal or sensitive data through the extension. The information we store is limited to the local configuration of the extension, such as whether the editor is active or disabled. This information is storedonly on your browser and is not shared with any external servers.

  • Local Storage: We use local storage in your browser to save configurations related to the extension, such as the editor's state (whether it's active or not). This ensures that your preferences are preserved across sessions.
  • Interaction with Web Pages: The extension interacts with the webpage only when the user activates the guide editor. It does not collect or transmit any personal data from the webpage or your browsing activity.
